The largest of Lebanon nature reserves, Al-Shouf Cedar Nature Reserve stretches from Dahr Al-Baidar in the north to Niha Mountain in the south.
Qannoubine is a medieval monastery located within the Qannoubine region of the Kadisha Valley UNESCO World Heritage Site in Lebanon. Qadisha Valley is a gorge that lies within the Bsharri and Zgharta Districts of the North Governorate of Lebanon. The valley was carved by the Kadisha River.
Horsh Ehden is a Nature Reserve located in North Lebanon. It contains a diverse forest of the cedar of Lebanon, making it a part of the country's cultural and natural heritage. Located on the northwestern slopes of Mount Lebanon with high precipitation, it hosts numerous rare and endemic plants.
The Baatara gorge sinkhole is a waterfall in the Chatine, Lebanon near Balaa. The waterfall drops 255 metres into the Balaa Pothole, a cave of Jurassic limestone located on the Lebanon Mountain Trail. The cave is also known as the Cave of the Three Bridges.
Qammoua forest is located in Akkar district, in Fnaydek village, and is 125 away from Beirut. It is distinguished by the abundance of juniper, cedar, oak, cypress and cilician fir trees. Ecologists say that these historic forests are at least a thousand years old. It is the most important forest of Lebanon with more than 10 million trees of fifty different species. Specialists rated the forest among the most beautiful forests in the world. It stands at an altitude of 1,600 meters and is considered unique in its charm as an ecological and tourist center.
Perched at an altitude of 1200m, Ain Zhalta is a charming village of Shouf including the cedar forest of Ain Zhalta-Bmohray which is part of the Shouf Reserve, listed by UNESCO as a biosphere reserve in 2005. The village is famous for its 3 water sources including the strong source of Nabeh el-Safa which has induced the emergence of many restaurants on its banks. The show of running water is an irresistible sight, especially when accompanied by delicious mezze. Ain Zhalta offers a most pleasant setting in the heart of a mountain dotted with history and perennial traditions.
Falougha is a peaceful village of Mount Lebanon that illustrates the Lebanese archetypal summer resort. Two winter rivers intersect the village which is known for its water sources and green hills, dotted with a wide variety of trees and furrowed by hiking trails. The village has preserved its traditional 19th century appearance, with its many red-tiled stone houses, including the old seraglio whose portal combines Levantine and Italian influences. Falougha is synonymous with adventure and discovery.
The largest remaining wetland in Lebanon, Ammiq, about 53 KM from Beirut, is remains of much more extensive swamps and lakes that once existed in the Bekaa Valley. The dreamlike location hidden in west Bekaa, is, of course, a place to be visited by nature lovers and Hikers, hence it’s known as one of the most important bird migration routes in the world, and over 250 species of birds have been recorded in the area. The Tannourine Cedars Forest Nature Reserve protects one of the largest and densest cedar forests in Lebanon. Eighty percent of the trees in the forest are cedars. The hiking trails are beautiful. The stunning mountainous landscape, with cedars seemingly defying gravity and growing on extremely vertical slopes, is impressive. Visitors and Hikers will also enjoy the opportunity to discover rock-cut or naturally occurring grottos on their hike, as well as rare flowers particular to this high altitude terrain.
Deir El Harf is a village in Mount Lebanon and has an elevation of 1,035 metres. Deir El Harf is situated nearby to the villages Arsoun and Chmayseh. The pine forest is amazing giving the Hiking trail a special taste.
Habil is a small beautiful and peaceful village to hike in. The trail is covered with oak, olive and pine trees. Habil is known by its famous ancient church, Lady of Habil, as well as ancient uninhibited houses. During the winter season, the Hiking trail has a special taste by its waterfall, a small cave and a water spring.
Jabal Moussa Biosphere Reserve is a nature reserve located in the Keserwan District of Mount Lebanon. It covers an area of 6500 hectares, at an altitude ranging between 350 meters in the North-West and 1,700 meters to the South-East. Its main villages are: Yahchouch, Qahmez, Jouret el-Termos, Nahr ed Dahab, Ghbaleh, Ebreh, and Chouwan. Jabal Moussa and surrounding villages became part of the UNESCO Network of Biosphere Reserves under the Man and Biosphere (MAB) program in 2009.
Baskinta Literary Trail: One of the most unique trails during the autumn season. Being part of the Lebanese Mountain Trail, the Baskinta Literary Trail offers a 24 kilometers hike through different landmarks related to poets and novelists. It has several stops, such as in Baskinta, Boqaatat Kenaan, Wadi el Karem, Kfaraaqab and Ain El Qabou.
The Hike starts at Deir Mar Semaan Aitou (Zgharta Casa) at an altitude of 1100m, going all the way down through wonderful pine forests, covering a big part of the trail, to reach at the end Deir Hamatoura in Kousba 400m above the sea level.
Beit ed-Dine, also known as Btaddine is a small town and the administrative capital of the Chouf District in the Mount Lebanon Governorate in Lebanon. The town is located 45 kilometers southeast of Beirut, and near the town of Deir el-Qamar from which it is separated by a steep valley.
The Trail of Wadi el Salib (40 Km from Beirut) stretches over 10km, takes to the ruins of the old village where the ancient agrarian community used to live. Wadi el Salib Trail stands between the villages of Kfardebian, Feytroun, Qlayaat and Daraya. The abundance of water from the high mountains of Kfardebian that streams through Wadi el Salib River encouraged the development of an old village and plantation terraces with many water mills and presses. During a two to four hours hike you can discover what’s left of the village landmarks: an old Ottoman bridge, ruins of old mills and grape presses, along with the crumbling remains of a silk factory and churches.
Mazraat Al Toufah, also spelled Mazraat Et Teffah and Mazraat Et-Teffah, is a village in Zgharta District, in the Northern Governorate of Lebanon. Located 123 Km away from Beirut, the capital of Lebanon.
Mokhtara is a small town in the Chouf District of the Mount Lebanon Governorate of Lebanon. Mokhtara trail stretches between Mokhtara and Haret Jandal along the Barouk river.

Ehmej is located in the center of the Jbeil Mountains, 1250 meters above sea level, 60 km from the capital Beirut. Ehmej is renowned for its bewildering nature extending between Anaya and Laklouk. Forests constitute around 70% of its lands. It is also a refuge for flora and fauna diversity.
